Dear all of you,

My son is three years old and has been on the diet for one year now.

Before the diet, he had diarrea since long times, and this was cleared

up through the diet. Started with the intro diet and we have added

every food one at a time, sometimes not working (and then excluded the

food). The last two months he has been having diarrea again, not

clearing up. Started with yoghurt (goat, 24h), and had the runny nose

for weeks, diarrea. Stopped the yoghurt for two weeks, no change.

Started with 1/8 teaspoon again, for three weeks. No change.

He only has his stools 1-2 times a day, but often runny.

Ideas: the raw carrot, peppers? But we had tested them before, alone,

and it was ok?

coconut milk, bought in cans, but we have stopped giving that.

Too much fruit? But we have also tested that before and it has been

going ok.

Mg, he gets that but has been having it for long time.

Only thing we can think of is lowering the fruits again (to only once

a day), and probably go to the intro diet for three days. But after

that? Not every food one at a time again I hope...

Don´t know what to do about it now. Would be grateful for any advice.

Sounds as if he isn't ready for goat yogurt yet.

If diarrhea starts (for almost any reason) it is best to go back to

an easier to digest diet and this usually means leaving out raw and

unpeeled fruits and veggies *even* if they were tolerated for a

while. Usually this is only temporary until the diarrhea stops and

stools are formed again. So the raw carrots and peppers which werew

tolerated may be prolonging the diarrhea. Avoiding them for a short

while may help the diarrhea clear up more quickly.

If the fruit is raw it is proably best to peel and cook it until he

has formed stool again.

SCD nov06>>>>

If you do the intro it will probably speed up the healing process

and get rid of diarrhea sooner. After that you should be able to

add foods back in.
