Guest guest
1) Are all apple juices illegal even if they state " no added sugar " ? Is homemade apple juice legal? 2) Are enzymes advisable if a child has chronic diarhea? 3) Why is cod liver oil preferable to an ordinary vitamin supplement containing A & D? Is it considered to be more absorbant? 4) Do supplements really make a difference? I've heard it said that Americans have the most expensive urine in the world because of all the supplements we take. Should I wait to add supplements until my son's digestive problems have improved? Thanks for your help, April
Guest guest
Hi, April, > > 1) Are all apple juices illegal even if they state " no added sugar " ? Yes. > Is homemade apple juice legal? Yes. > 2) Are enzymes advisable if a child has chronic diarhea? I'd like to see what Sheila says on this. I know you should avoid enzymes if there is ulceration of the gut. I don't think diarrhea automatically means there are ulcerations, but it could. > 3) Why is cod liver oil preferable to an ordinary vitamin supplement > containing A & D? Is it considered to be more absorbant? The natural form of vitamin A in cod liver oil has a significant good effect on the body. The synthetic form does not. > 4) Do supplements really make a difference? They do for some people. Should I wait to add supplements until my son's > digestive problems have improved? Choose supplements that you and your child's doctor believe in; make sure you get legal forms. Then add them in one at a time in small amounts, increasing over time just as if they were a new food. Do not add them during the intro. The order you add new things is up to you. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/04 > Thanks for your help, > April >
Guest guest
Thanks for your advice . I have an SCD legal multi-vitamin from Kirkman's labs but I've only been giving it to my older son who is not ASD and does not appear to have digestive problems. My younger son who ASD appears to have problems with yeast, diarrhea (although I've noticed improvements recently) and I figured best to hold off on adding any supplements until he has been without diarrhea and a runny nose (again I've seen improvements) for several weeks. On another note, Have you heard of zinc assay? If so do you know if it's legal? Thanks again, April julie46250 wrote: Hi, April, > > 1) Are all apple juices illegal even if they state " no added sugar " ? Yes. > Is homemade apple juice legal? It is probably best to start with a little bit of enzymes at first and gradually increase the amounts if they are tolerated. I took enzymes for a while to aid digestion and was able to wean off them altogther. Guest guest
I have 2 suggestions. One would be to get a legal flavored CLO. Nordic Naturals CLO comes in 4 flavors and the flavors are legal. https://www.nordicnaturals.com/direct/prodsummary.asp?ID=35 Or, shoot the CLO into the back of the mouth with a medicine syringe. Then, (if you think it would help) give a sip or a bite of something your toddler likes. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
