Guest guest
Suzi: I'm most interested in the thing you said here regarding the estrogen making your pancreatitis worse. I had a hysterectomy in 2001 and I've been taking Estradiol ever since. Still do...do you think maybe I should stop? I've gone sometimes two to three days not taking it due to illness and forgetting it and didn't notice any ill effects. Sheesh, some hot flashes and such probably wouldn't even be noticed by me now. Other things are so much worse.... thanks
Guest guest
- I would talk with your doctor before you stop estrogen. I only took estrogen to once to stop continous bleeding, my OB/GYN thought it might " heal " the lining (yeah, I don't understand either) Just 24 hours after I started taking it I went into a full-blown attack of pancreatitis. And so I am leary of hormones, as is my OB/GYN for me now. Since my endo is back, I have to decide if I want hysterectomy or if I want to live with that pain too...but since my pancreas doesn't take to kindly to hormones, it becomes more of the pros and cons and looking at every angle before I decide. Please talk with your doctor before you stop taking estrogen cold turkey...those side effect of stopping could be awful, if not harmful. Take care, I hope you are feeling better today. Hugs, Suzi B.
