My son is autistic, 30 years o age, very sick, I need help

I got ahold of the book Breaking the Vicious cycle...within the

past month and have instituted the diet. We have a long line

of family members with gut problems....my son has basicially gone

from a person with autism.. to psycological problems...abdomen

enlarged....Gastrointestinally not right...pupils of his eyes

do not repond to light at times...dilated...hearing voices, I believe

he is extremely toxic and all the doctors are doing for him

is putting on more psych meds.. I also think he has heavy metals..and

of course the yeast overgrowth....I am hoping that the diet will help

him soon...but I am sincerely worried that he is in such poor health

he may not recover.He does have medicare insurance but I don't know

where to go for help....He had worked for 7 years at a grocery store

then he began having problems hearing voices....I investigated and

began asking questions at his work and found that the cleaning

supplies

that he was using were extremely toxic... He also has Illinois

medicaid

for insurance....If anyone knows of a doctor or knows of anyway else

that I could help him please let me know.... He showed signs of Autism

after he had his mmr shot as an infant...another problem I am facing

is

that his sister has had a baby that is acting quite like he did as an

infant...very fussy and colicy...and she is insisting that the baby

gets her shots...????

hi, my son has only been on the diet for 14 days but

we have seen good things we also do a biomedical

approach called dan therapy might help it you go on

defeat autism now website they will have details of

practioners in your areas, i really feel for you its

so hard watching our loved ones going through these

problems, i would no the intro diet asap if you havent

started already we found it wonderful for my son he

had a speech explosion and everything now says 12

different words per day and he has non verbal 2 weeks

ago, also is helping with the yeast i would read both

the websites pecanbread and btvc really good info on

both hoprfully some one else might have more detailed

advice

Tell your sister immediately to inform her doctor of the issues in her family

and explain to her that if her child has a compromised immune system or an

immature nervous system that needs a little longer to develop she MUST give

those vaccines, separetly...no MMR for example....M for example...then the next,

wait, then the next one and wait. THe shots are nto meant to be given when a

child is under the weather for a REASON, and even a ped. won't inject them into

a sick child...what is happening is too often kids are sick with things as of

yet undiagnosed or their immune and nervous systems are a tad immature...tell

her SLOW DOWN, that's all. She can have her child fully vaccinated on a much

more conservative schedule...or tell her frankly that she can pony up THOUSANDS

of dollars and tens of thousands of hours trying to recover a child injuried by

a too aggressive shots schedule. She would be wise to avoid the flu vaccine

altogether bc of its

contents....but if she proceeds carefully with all the others she might get

lucky on that one....best of luck...we WISH we had signed a waiver or at least

slowed down...hindsight is forty forty. As for your son...do the SCD diet with

him immediately, and also check out the explaining activity, hands on, that you

do with older kids to get them on board...the more he understands about what is

happening to him and how he needs to work with you on healing himself...not you

just doing it to him or for him...the better your chances are of assisting him.

As for some of the symptoms you describe, schizophrenics who had gluten and

casein removed from their diets showed a marked drop in problematic

sympto/behaviors per some studies done in the UK. The substances found in the

urine and stool samples of kids with autism and those with issues like the ones

you described for your loved one indicate theie IS a diet connection to his

suffering, and that is good

news....work with him on the diet, get him on antifungals and

probiotics....good luck. Di

Where do you live? I live in Mason, Ohio (near Cincinnati), and I'm members

of a group that is mostly in Indiana. If you live in Illinois, I think

there is a Dr. Usman that may be able to help your son, and I'm sure I can

get some more names of possible docs. from the Indiana group. If that is

tmcclintick@.... My son is 11, he has severe autism, and I also think

the MMR shot was the straw that broke the camel's back -though he had some

digestive issues before that, that is when the autism really set in. Let me

know about your location and if you'd like to join that group- there are

fantastic moms on there guiding me and helping me get through " road blocks "

- we've hit many along the way. You're right that the meds. aren't going to

cure the underlying issues, you're on the right track with the diet, I look

We've found this diet extremely beneficial - positive effects on aggression,

self-injury, language/communication, sleep, awareness/interaction outside of

self, general health and well being. A few large (and surprising) improvements

in the first few months and many, many incremental improvements since then. The

kind where you suddenly realize that you haven't seen X in a while. I highly

recommend putting in the time and effort involved with SCD, with your son. As

the body begins to heal/balance it is better able to slowly and naturally

detoxify. This is a good group of caring people and there's lots of experience

available to help and support you.
