Guest guest
Hi all, I'm new to this. I've had pancreatitis for so long but it seems to be a new disease. What kind of things have others found that helped the pain except pain meds. The tens unit was just suggested to me and I look forward to trying it. Has anyone had the surgery where they take out the panc. and inject it into your liver. My Dr. wants me to have it done but I'm so sceptical about it. Is there anyone with any info on this. Thanks costaricanrobin
Guest guest
HI Robin, first off let me welcome you to the board. I have been a member here for a very long time and this is a wonderful group. These people have helped me out more times then I can even count. Please feel free to ask and discuss anything you wish. We talk about it all. I had the total pancreatectomy autologous islet cell transplant last November. I have also had a transduodenal sphincteroplasty and Beger procedure. I have been doing well since the transplant except for some minor post op problems, but as far as the pain and difficulties related to pancreatitis, they are completely gone. I am not a diabetic, per se', however I do have to watch my blood glucose closely. Please feel free to ask what ever you wish. Warmly, (SC)
Guest guest
Costaricanrobin, Hi and welcome. I have cp and have been diagnosed now for going on 4 years. I had surgery on my pancreas in June to open up the ducts etc. I am not able to have the ERCP so I had to have the open incision. Now just a few months later they want to do surgery again. This time I pray it works. Have you had any surgeries on yours yet?
