Guest guest
Evening everyone, I have a question and am not sure if it's been asked and answered. Sorry if it has. Has anyone or dos anyone have a tight feeling around their ribcage, where the pancreas is located? I kinda feel like I have done a ton of sit ups but haven't done a one to speak of. No heavy lifting or pushing, pulling, etc. I just have this weird, uncomfortable and even painful feeling like I am sore from doing sit ups where my pancreas is? Can anyone help diagnose this for me? Or does anyone know what to do to make it go away. It hurts around the front in the pancreas area, not at all on the sides and then picks back up with pain in the back. And I have no GB either. Ladies, it's located right below my bra strap. The only other sympton that may help diagnos this is that I feel INCREDIBLY bloated. I can not believe this is just a bloated feeling. That is more lower near the tummy and this is definatly higher in the pancreas region. Thanks everyone, Sandy in CA
Guest guest
Sandy, I used to get that tightness, just at the base of my sternum, just below bra-line, all the time, all along the back, too. I had it so often during a bad flare that I just thought it was one of those " normal " abnormal side effects of CP. Several others would agree with me. It felt as though there was a band there that kept getting tighter, or being twisted tighter. Just one of those " things " , I guess. Never did hear of any other explanation for it. Sorry that I couldn't help more. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Sandy, I don't know if I can help you but I can tell you that I have the same pain. Sometimes I can't even wear a bra due to the discomfort. I always contribute it to the pancreatitis. K. Guest guest
Hi, After my attacks I suffer from the soreness of the attack. It does take a while to go away. I also get bloated mostly from having a vaagodomy which is from like a type of stomache bypass surgery that was done due to duadunal ulcer. All of my food goes into my small intestine and that also causes my body not to absorb iron and other nutrients. Every time afterI eat I look like I am 8 months pregnant. My husband cannot believe how I look. I am also miseral and have to lay down until I feel better. Sincerely, Janet
Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who replied to me and my question. I will chalk it up to the good ol' pancreas. I have been having alot of pain lately. Sometimes lasting for hours and other times so INTENSE but lasting only a few minutes. Must be that. I hate to take pain meds for those painful tim4es that only last a few minutes, but those few minute pain attacks will come sometimes 8 or 9 times an hour. I don't know which is worse. The constant pain or the off and on ones so frequently. Thanks everyone, Sandy in CA
Guest guest
Sandy you just described what my pancreas feels like some of the time. It usually means I need pain meds or to go off solid food if I still feel that way after taking meds. This is the mild form of pain I get. When it's really bad, I also feel like I'm being stabbed with a knife periodically, but I also have that " tight " feeling just below the rib cage (around the bra strap).
