Guest guest
My son has been on the diet for a whopping 3 days and I am ready to commit myself to the crazy ward! He is very cranky, crying and screaming all the time b/c he is hungry and will not eat the food. He ate the chicken at first....then refused the rest of the time. He is sneaking and bringing me food from every where...not sure where he is getting some of it. It broke my heart when he is sitting in the kitchen with big tears trying to open a package of frozen hamburger meat. He wants crunch...chips, and the carrot curls were a flop. Is there a special way to make them? I am not sure if I can hang on and I am thinking this might help. Any suggestion? How about a valium? LOL. Thanks for any help Cade's mom
Guest guest
Hi, Cade's Mom, Crunch is hard at the beginning of the diet. BTW carrot curls, because they are fried, are somewhat hard to digest. Day 3 is definitely too soon for carrot curls. There is a recipe for meringue cookies here: http://www.pecanbread.com/new/recipes1.html that someone recommended for crunch. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Also, I believe ground beef is ok on the intro...so he should be able to have a hamburger, unless there is another reason you are avoiding the beef. Guest guest
Oh, yeah, speaking of beef--is he allergic to all beef? Some people who don't tolerate store beef can tolerate organic or grassfed. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Definitely, Organic and local (where you can talk to the farmer) is the way to go. A while ago I read somewhere that many of the meats sold in store are actually soaked in a gluten-based solution. I wish I remembered where.. It led me to stop eating red meats that is not organic, or actually, I kinda quit meat alltogether I find it much healthier since then. Guest guest
--- We have been eating hamburger also, it just needs to be cooked first. He has no patience and right now neither do I. When will I know when I can add another item? Guest guest
Hi jamcade2001, <<<<We have been eating hamburger also, it just needs to be cooked first. > He has no patience and right now neither do I. When will I know when> I can add another item?>>>> After 3-5 days on the intro you should start to introduce more legal foods. The type of foods and the rate at which you add new foods will depend on his symptoms. Has there been any change in bowel/behavioural etc.. symtoms since starting the diet?
