Janet, Am I reading this correctly, or are my eyes messing up again? Are you saying that you went from 180 lbs. down to 60 lbs? And then, in two months, you gained more than double that weight, or you gained 78 pounds - in only two months? Please help straighten out my confusion. This seems impossible to comprehend. Guest guest
Dear Hiedi, I guess I didn't explain it as well as I should have. About 12yrs. ago when I weighed about 100lbs. The doctor slowly increased the Elavil over a period of time to help my depression. When he put me on 300mg. I had problems walking and probems with headaches. He then had me take 1/2 tablet in the morning and the other half at lunch, then take a whole tablet at bedtime. When I started gaining the weight I did not know why until I talked to a lady at my church and she told me her daughter had the same problem with the medication causing her to gain weight. The doctor would not decrease my medication and I knew enough that you had to be weined off the medication. I started with my morning dose and then my lunch med. I lost some weight and I stayed at 130lbs and that took me about six months to lose the weight. When my cp started putting me in the hospital sometimes for a month at the time and went down to 60lbs. I went back to using the 300mg. a day and over the last five months I am now at 138lbs. I hope I explained it better for you now.
