Guest guest
The reason I joined this group is because I'd been looking for information on Pancreatitis. My sister has Pancreatitis and I wanted to find anything I could to help her, eg. recipes, treatments, coping skills, sharing information, etc. It wasn't until I happened to read, " First time Experience w/Pancreatitis " that I read about your wonderful pancreatic website. Another thing I have in common with this group is my pancreas! Mine quit working for me about forty-one years ago; I became a brittle diabetic, had huge mood swings due to the constant swings in my blood sugar levels, terrible reactions with seizures.....and major depression!(Forty-one years of 'This is my Life'). Then I found out about the Edmonton Protocol Islet Transplant Program. After two years of waiting for a donor, I finally had my first islet transplant surgery. When I was called at 2 a.m. and asked if I could be in Edmonton by 7 a.m. I wasn't sure that I wanted it at all! Anyway, my life has totally changed; the biggest change for me has been that I am now stable, my blood sugars are between 5-7(not 0-30). It's great to be alive,I want to share and be aware,
Guest guest
I am so happy for you and your success with the islet cell transplant. It gives new hope to everyone. I hope you will find lots of help here for your sister. My son has CP and I have found a wealth of information from the members here. They share everything and are wonderful. Love you you and you sister and you will be added to my prayers.
Guest guest
Hi , Welcome! I know many, including myself can benefit from your experiences, good and bad, and how you made it to where you are now, is a much better place.
