Guest guest
I actually made a successful batch of mayo. The texture is perfect! Oh, its cooked mayo. I had to double the recipe (hope I can use it all before it goes bad) and make it in my food processor. I don't have a smaller one you can pour into while processing. I can see that the mayo may be going on LOTS of things. Hey one success! Bonita

Guest guest
Good for you, Bonita! Just thought I'd post a suggestion for using up mayo. If your son eats the chicken nuggets that use mayo, you can make a whole lot of those and then freeze them for future use. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Hooray! What recipe did you use and what was different about the way you made this batch? > > I actually made a successful batch of mayo. The texture is perfect! > Oh, its cooked mayo. Guest guest
I used Marilyn's recipe. It seems to me that a food processor is necessary. I've used a couple of different blenders and neither did any good. The food processor was the best equipment for it. I had to double the recipe becuase it was so small it would not hit both of the blades in a full size processor and mix together with just a single recipe. I used just slightly less than 1 cup of oil for each recipe instead of a whole cup for each. It was really nice and thick. I agree with all the others who have said the same thing- blenders don't work nearly as well as food processors. <of course except Marilyn's old faithful from days of old> It actually turned out quite thick. It also had quite a whang. It reminded me of a cross between mayo and miracle whip. I added just a tad bit too much lemon juice accidentally so I added just a tad bit more honey. Also, I wasn't mixing it all together thoroughly enough before heating the yolk mixture. That made a difference. Bonita Re: I did it!!!! Hooray!
