Guest guest
Hello all, I have the strangest luck! Last week I went to the doctor and found out that I have another stress fracture. This is stress fracture #5 in 9 months. This is not the end of my cross-country season though. The doctors are going to let me finish the season since I graduate in December and I am expected to be one of the top for our teaml, with the knowledge that there is a very high risk my foot will break all of the way through. Right after my visit at the doctor I went for a run. Well, during my run I slipped on mud, fell, hit my head on the cement curb and was knocked unconcious. Not too long later I had the worst headache of my life, and I began to vomit. I ended up spending the night in the hospital with a head injury and concussion. My headache is now gone, I am now getting the cereal into the bowl and the milk doesn't spill everywhere. Also, I am back running. I actually have a meet this weekend. Hopefully I do well. I haven't had a good race yet. The first race of the season I had a fever of 102. The second race I thought I was having a heart attack, which turned out to be pneumonia. Race number three my lungs were still burning, and I found out that day the antibiotics I was on for the pneumonia wouldn't kill the bug, because the pneumonia was caused by pertussis, or better known as whooping cough. I finally was placed on the right antibiotic. A couple of days later I started being a star at practice. Race four I was unable to compete because of a concussion. So I guess we'll see how this one goes. Hopefully it will go. There are still a couple of days for things to happen. Guest guest
Crystal, I'm amazed you have the will to run while so sick! Take care of yourself and don't let yourself get too rundown. My brother slipped on ice and hit his head and had the same problems. It took years , but he is back to normal. That is a slow healing process, so I have read. I used to run daily when I was in shape, before the CFS and Fibro set in. Be well, Eileen
