Having IV's and Blood drawn

I went to have blood drawn...And I noticed there was a new girl in the lab.I do

not know why, but I can get someone who will not listen to me about getting

blood from me.I told her in a friendly nice way, this is a good place to get

blood. Because I'm a hard stick...She said who says? She said lets try

here...Well sure enough she could not get it...

The new girl yells for the reg. lab girl ... She came in, and I said here lets

go here where you do when getting my blood...She gets the blood...She looked at

me and said, " Well why didn't you tell her that? " The lab girl spoke up and said

she did...I saw the surprised look on the reg. lab lady's face...

When the nurse takes you back to the endoscopy suite and starts asking

you questions just tell her point blank that you dont want to offend

any body but that you have a history of being a very difficult stick

and that you want somebody from anesthesia to start your IV using

lidocaine. Explain to her/him that it usually takes several sticks to

get one and the lidocaine makes is far less painful. Trust me she will

understand.
