Guest guest
I just got home from having an endoscopy of my stomach. Seems these docs keep thinking it's my stomach and don't want to think it's the pancreas. It went well, except the anesthesiologist could not thread the vein and had to stick me three times! I never felt the " threading " before, always felt the needle prick and that was it. Hurt like hell and was almost ready to say, that's it! " After her try at another vein at my wrist would not " thread " . Now I have pain in that vein and up my arm and it's really swollen where they were trying to get it in. He found a hiatal hernia and gastritis but said it looks a lot better than it did 2 months ago when my gallbladder was in. SO that's good. Next week:Colonoscopy Then the week after that: Pancreas specialist at Aram Manoukian at Woods
Guest guest
Did they do a straight endoscopy or an endoscopic ultrasound? War story: Had an English-style endoscopy, meaning a spritz of novocaine on the back of the throat and away we go! It's that stiff- upper-lip mentality coupled with national healthcare -- must not grumble. Pretty brutal. No matter where you are in the world, always ask for the sedation, no matter how long they say you'll have to wait. Re endoscopic ultrasounds, had one at Mayo to see the state of my pancreas after several episodes. It's a good method for seeing how the pancreatic tissue is changing/damaged, but not sure it helps when it comes to seeing if you have pancreatitis. Good luck with the colonoscopy. I haven't gone there yet. Keep the faith. > > I just got home from having an endoscopy of my stomach. Guest guest
Thanks . :-) It was a sedated endoscopy . I would have hated to have been awake, I would have panicked!
