Guest guest
Okay...to all those with resistant eaters, how long did it take for them to give in? It has been a rough 2 days. Vomiting, low-grade fever and sleepiness. He did have peeled strawberries finally and is taking water, but that is it and it is so hard to watch. I keep cooking and offering food but so far nothing! Thanks for all the support! Mom to Lincoln (6 yo w/ AS)
Guest guest
Are you sure your child doesn't have a stomach bug? My 4 year old son spent all night last night throwing up, low grade fever and sleeping much of the day. That's going around now. If they are truly sick, they wouldn't feel like eating. Just a thougth. It may not be that at all. Diane SCD 5 weeks Okay...to all those with resistant eaters, how long did it take for them to give in? It has been a rough 2 days. Guest guest
I had a very picky eater, but we did not experience anything like what you are going thru because I did not go cold turkey with him. I did the diet in stages. I first added SCD foods to his regular diet so he and I could learn what he liked. I also gradually reduced his starches and grains while we learned what his favorite substitutes would be. I also often used store-bought items since I knew he wouldn't eat them anyway. For example, I offered store-bought apple sauce many times before he had any interest. Once he finally did try and like it, then I began to cook it from scratch. The SCD transition was a very positive experience for my son & I think all of our kids deserve as many positive experiences as they can get! - micwentz wrote: Okay...to all those with resistant eaters, how long did it take for them to give in? Guest guest
I agree with Diane. We've all had exactly the same bug around here. Give him lots of TLC and maybe some chicken broth or SCD ok popcycles, or just wait until he feels better. > > Okay...to all those with resistant eaters, how long did it take for > them to give in? Epsom salt baths and /or activated charcoal may help. If he won't eat at least make sure he stays hydrated: diluted legal juices or the electroylte mix. http://www.pecanbread.com/new/recipes/electrolytedrink.html Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs PCOD 22yrs mom of and
