Guest guest
Hi all, I'm new, joined a few days ago. I am married, have three boys: 15 ASD, OCD, bipolar, 10 ADHD, bipolar, and 6 so far NT but digestive issues since birth. We did the Intro diet starting Sunday, went through Monday. Started Phase I yesterday and am moving on to Phase II tomorrow as no one (other than me!) has had any problems with any of the foods.  Little by little, we are seeing changes. Good ones. All three of my boys have had yeast and intestinal issues since they were little. We did not immunize so I always wondered about the MMR vaccination link to autism as that didn't fit for us. All three have had tetanus, though, as they have either broken a bone or been bitten by a dog at one time or another. My oldest was dx'ed with bipolar first but I knew more was going on. Eventually we got the dx of PDD-NOS, then a school autism specialist said he was definitely Asperger's. We now homeschool all three, which works out well for us and for them. I just want to say that I think this group, Elaine Gottschall (God rest her soul) and this whole concept are a godsend. I am so thankful to have found you all and to be learning right along with you. I've been fascinated with the effect of diet on health for many years...and it feels good to actually be seeing it work in the lives of my family. Thanks for listening, Cathe yeast overgrowth, mom to 15ds ASD, OCD, bipolar  10ds ADHD, bipolar   6ds NT, chronic constipation
Guest guest
Welcome to the group, Cathe! I am happy that your family is seeing some changes so soon. I do wonder if you are adding only one new food at a time and watching for reactions, since you are only spending 2 days on Stage One. The Stages are just a guideline to help us see what foods are generally easier to digest than others, but that said, it is important to add only one new food at a time. Reactions can even be a day or so later, so adding each new food a few days apart, in small amounts and then increasing, is the best way to go. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Hi my son whos 5yrs old is been on scd for almost 3 weeks he's asd he's adhd and pica. I was wondering and I know we talked about this before but I'm still alittle confused and so isnt the lady at the health food store. I wanted to get bacon for and I was told it had to be cured in honey. Well she said its called uncured if its cooked in honey is she right? This is what it is its called organic prairie. Ingredients are organic pork, water, sea salt, organic honey, natural flavor, organic spices, lactic acid starter culture. Thank You for your help. I dug into a product once because I really, really wanted to use it (and now I don't even remember what it was or why I was so set on it!) and discovered that although they assured me there was no sugar in it, they were using " organic dried cane juice, " which is sugar by another name, as one of the " spices " ! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Bacon doesn't have to be cured in *legal pure honey*, some bacons are salt cured. If there are no illegals these can be used more frequently than bacons with sugar. " Listen " to the bodies response though when using bacon - some find it tricky on digestion. <<<<Well she said its > called uncured if its cooked in honey is she right?>>>> I haven't heard of that before. If honey is used it must be pure legal honey (clear honey). <<<> This is what it is its called organic prairie. > Ingredients are organic pork, water, sea salt, organic > honey,>>>> You'd have to ensure that it is pure, clear (free of pollen etc..) honey. <<<<natural flavor, organic spices,>>>> These are illegal ingredients because they can include illegal starches, sugar etc... <<< lactic acid > starter culture.
