Guest guest
As all of you are aware, I have had negligible results with the Fentanyl patch and have only had relief at about a level of 8 since a year ago last August. After going to Vegas on a short holiday, this was made more clear to me that this was just not working as it should and put me into a spiral of depression and greater pain as I was recovering from the trip. Well, my doctor had to be Mr. Smarty Pants and tell me that maybe I don't fit the model for those who can use narcotics for pain relief and offered no other alternative. Well, this led me to consider greatly the use of the organization " Final Exit " so that I could end my life as there was certainly to be no real quality of life if such were the case. He countered my argument that we were only chasing the " upper end " of my pain in our course of pain management and that, were I to get a greater dose, then I would be able to reach a level of pain that would be lower, maybe a 5 or so (which I felt that I could live with). Well, we were BOTH wrong. He was completely wrong and I was wrong because my pain level is about a 2 or so. WOO HOO!! I am happier than a hippo in cat's pajamas (especially one that's been on one hell of a diet, LOL). I feel that I can now look forward to a better life and will be able to get a few things done around here that i have wanted to do. I still do not get around too well due to the vertigo and overall weakness but I can live with that. Finally some relief after over 10 years!!!!!!! Guest guest
Anyse, This is fantastic news, and must be such a relief for you. What dosage did you go to that's working so well? Being able to get on with life and resume some sort of a " normal " existence makes such a difference, both physically and mentally. I'm so happy for you. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
