Hi Chrissy,

Thanks for the message. Sorry you've had a bad week. I hope things

will improve now. I know you have unresolved (as yet) issues and can

only hope, with you, that they resolve themselves.

No, I wasn't taking steroids when I had the GT test. This was a

couple of months ago and I took steroids for 10 days only, finishing

last Wednesday. My appointment at the ENT clinic was only three

weeks ago, a long time after the last GT test.

I can't continue on steroids; I understand that. Pity! I felt so

wonderful while I was on them. No painkillers needed and I never

once felt tired. Normally I'm shattered by the end of the day!

Thanks for the reassuring words on diabetes. I guess the

endocrinologist will want me to take the HBA1 test (or something

like that....I may have the letters wrong!!), to determine average

glucose tolerance over several weeks rather than the one-off test

following sugary drink, which is the one I have taken so far. I too

hope the disbetes will be mild but I have been warned over the last

two years that it was coming and that it could be a sudden rather

than a gradual decline. I will just have to be vigilant and await

results. I'm glad you find it reasonably easy to keep under control.

I think Sue is still in hospital but haven't tried to get through

today. I'l try again tomorrow and keep you up-to-date.

Did I mention that I was trying to get a job supervising trainee

teachers? I could start this year with a view to doing much more

after July, working in conjunction with one of Higher Education

institutions in the region. I don't want to be an inspector (NO

SIR!!) and consultancy doesn't appeal (jargon-time!) but working

with people hoping to join the profession would suit me just fine.

Take care. Thinking about you and hoping you feel better after your

bad few days.
