Guest guest
You can make sandwiches in the early stages if he can do eggs. Check out the nut free dairy free bread in the files. If you dry these in the oven on a low temp, they get kind of crunchy and may make a 'cracker' like snack. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/files/ Hope this helps, Sharon in OH, -(Tourettes, yeast and related conditions, SCD since 8-16-07) Wife of Adam - Crohn's 2004, SCD since June 2006 Asacol, Carlson fish oil, Phenol Assist enzyme. > So we have a long weekend coming up and I don't know > what to do...I need lunch ideas for a 4 year old in > the early stages. Guest guest
Thanks, Sharon. I am going to try this egg bread snack today. Yesterday was our first full day on the diet. We did pretty well. I made eggs and ground turkey for breakfast. My son asked for cereal, I told him no. He's decided that everything somehow became " regular " since he used to eat it. He understands the difference between " regular " and " special " since he has been GF for quite a while. For lunch he had breakfast leftovers and my first batch of grape juice jello. We have a winner! He loved the stuff. I've made three batches already since I'm eating it too. Whee. Dinner was crock pot chicken soup with well cooked baby carrots. It turned out pretty well and there's a decent amount of leftovers. Now I'm wishing I had a bigger crock pot. Oh well. I myself am staying away from beef and eggs for now as I need to test those separately later. I think they affect my RA. The arachidonic acid in regular factory farmed meats sold in grocery stores can cause inflammation. Similarly with eggs some find that free range chicken eggs don't cause inflammation the same way that grain fed chicken eggs do. That's a good thought. Right now I dream of the day when I will have a chest freezer and half a grass fed cow to put in it. I can't afford it right now but it's a good thought. > Similarly with eggs some find that free range > chicken eggs don't > cause inflammation the same way that grain fed > chicken eggs do. Hmm...I've been buying organic eggs at Costco but they are probably grain fed. Maybe I should try the Asian markets near me for duck eggs. I would assume that might help in the same way. Thanks for the suggestions!
