Guest guest
To all and to Heidi, I want to thank all of you for your congratulations on my success with pain medication and control. When I asked my doctor for an increase, I was on 75 mmg Fentanyl patches. I thought that if I got a moderate increase that we could get ahead of my level 8 consistent pain. He got VERY experimental and said " Let's DOUBLE your dose to see what happens. " I was floored by his suggestion as I was thinking that he may only raise the dosage to 100 (which I felt would be too little). So, now I have moved from 75 to 150 in the Fentanyl patch and have finally achieved a pain level of 2 or even 1! Ten years I have been dealing with this pain and suffering and that was my reason for discussing the solution of the " Final Exit " program. Now, I am pleased. I was feeling so good that I ate 4 KFC biscuits with a lot of butter and boysenberry jam! Well, I threw all of that up a few hours later along with my dinner of a very nice salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. Oh well, such celebrations are off of the list as they should be according to a good panc diet. The best to all of you. Anyse

Guest guest
Anyse, Yay!!! I am so happy to hear your doc helped you. It is horrible to live with that kind of pain daily. I prayed for you every several times a day and prayed that relief would come your way. I am doing a women of faith bible study right now and it is about beind strong in the face of adversity. You my dear, passed with flying colors! Congratulations! I am sorry to hear about the biscuits not staying down but they sure were good for a while huh!! I had pizza yesterday and I paid for it but oh man was it good. I have found that I can hardly eat out anymore at all. Take care and I hope this level of pain relief lasts! I know how much you loved your patches in the beginning. You and Heidi explaining them to me really made me decide to try. I am up to 125 mcg. every 3 days. Actually, they only last about 24 - 60 hours. Not the full 72. Take care and keep on smiling! Once we start feeling so well after months/years of feeling crappy, it's easy to forget all the other precautions about diet and activity. Try not to! You still can't eat the high fat foods and a heavy increase in unaccustomed activity can throw you right back in bed again. Sorry you had too much of a celebration, try angel food cake with strawberries and no fat whipped topping next time, you can eat as much of that as you want!
