Guest guest
I have a question that I though someone could answer for me. At what point does your weight loss stop and you just maintain the weight your going to be? I have looked on Dr. R's website and haven't found anything that address' that. Can anyone answer this question for me? Have other's wondered the same thing? Thanks to all! Bells
Guest guest
I was wondering if we just disappear someday.... LOL, only kidding. It seems everyone just stops when they either get down to or close to their ideal weight.. don't know why. Maybe with these little bellys and the ability not to over-eat, we automaticly go to where we should be.. Help us out there, Flo, Gloria, or Zoey.. someone who's been there or close to it. Guest guest
You got it Trude! That's how I understand it. Your body has some sort of a set point and when you get there, you stop. I also think I read somewhere that many people do not reach their goal..that they remain with a loss of about 80-90% of their " overage " . Many of us don't know where our weight belongs because we've been obese since childhood. For instance....I always had most of my weight in my butt and the top of my legs. I had very little in my stomach. But during the past ten years or so, my stomach area has gotten larger..and my butt and legs remained large. With having lost a lot of weight, I have very little butt left. I believed my whole life that I would never lose it and that I would carry this caboose around forever. (Sorry le. I thought we were going to be the big butt sisters together forever). But when I thought about it, how could I ever know how I am built since I have been overweight since I was 7 and obese since I was 11. Since surgery, the way clothing fits and the types that I can wear is very different than I had envisioned and I am built very differently that I thought I was! Drema, my daughter, has lost 76 pounds. She always had a big butt and not much in the stomach area. She is now very small on top, her stomach is very flat, and the butt is the last thing to go...but it is coming off and wow! what a difference 76 pounds has made for her. So, I guess the moral of the story is that somehow our bodies must know when enough is enough because it is my understanding that only one person had to be reversed for losing too much. I dunno...but somehow I don't think that over loss is going to be a concern to me. I'm 217 now and have been for a good bit...I've not lost very much the past month and a half. But at 58, having been overweight for 50 years...this is sooooooooo gooooooooooodddd! This is the first time since I graduated from high school that I can purchase clothing in a " regular " store and I don't have to just endorse my check over to Lane . Guest guest
Bells....My husband has wondered the very same thing, and so far I haven't been able to answer him. He thinks we might just wither away I guess, anyway I'd like to see an answer for that also...MGBWanttaBe.....Bonnie WadeAndShelley@... wrote: > > I have a question that I though someone could answer for me.
