Guest guest
Hi . Welcome to our group. There are a great bunch of people here. You must be very new to the idea of WLS if you aren't aware of the possible complications of all Weight Loss Surgery (WLS). Possible hair loss is just one of them. And not all people will or do lose hair. It is a POSSIBLE side effect and it almost always grows back There are much more serious side effects that can happen from any WLS . Please go to www.clos.net to research the Mini Gastric Bypass (MGB) which is what this list is mostly about. This site is run by Dr. Rutledge of Durham North Carolina. Dr Rutledge requires that you know most of the information that is on his web site and has you fill out what is referred to as a packet, before you can schedule your surgery. He wants you to understand all risks and possible complications. He requires that you have contact with at least 10 patients who have had the MGB. He also wants you to know the different kinds of WLS that are available and how his is different etc. You will find the answers to most of these questions on his web site. Go to where it says start here first to understand what is required of you. I suggest that you research all kinds WLS before you proceed. I think that everyone here will agree with me on this one. It is a serious, life changing decision and should not be entered into with out much thought and research. Another good WLS sight is www.obesityhelp.com/morbidol. But please check out a few. I don't mean to sound preachy or know it all about this. I just want to help you in the right direction. I had the MGB on 9/28/00 and it was the best decision I have ever made, but I did hundreds of hours of research before deciding on the MGB. If I can be of any further help, please feel free to email me privatley. from Michigan Surgery 9/28/00-280 lbs 12/4/00 -240 lbs
