Guest guest
I started my AS daughter on the diet on 10/29/07 My mistake the first week was adding things too fast, but we did see a temporary decrease in lip picking, one of her favorite stim activities. So we restarted last Monday, and again, the lip picking almost completely went away. So I added bananas on Friday, and as of yesterday, the lip picking was back, though not as bad. I also had added the grape juice jello on Thursday, but as it was on the intro diet, I didn't worry about that. She was begging for the bananas, which she has never liked very much, so I figured that her body was needing something besides intro. I'm a little worried about starting completely over, because of the caution against spending too much time on the intro. I would really appreciate your input. Thanks in advance,

I don't think it is a good sign if she is begging for foods (sweet) and then her stim came back. It may be that she is craving a sweet food to feed yeast (or other microbes). I'd suggest either drastically reducing the bananas or cutting them out for now. Starting an appropriate veggie instead now would proabably help reverse things. <<<I'm a> little worried about starting completely over, because of the caution > against spending too much time on the intro. Some good veggies to try next after the intro: peeled cooked zucchini, boiled or steamed squash. How are her stools? If she has pretty good bm's maybe some ripe avocado also or avocado mixed with burgers or into meatloaf? If removing the banana doesn't help the problem may be the grape juice if she didn't have it while on the intro. Guest guest
Thank you, Shelia. I'll try that. I so appreciate those of you who are good at this helping us out. I'm not sure I could get this by myself.
