Guest guest
Hi, Someone on one of the UK boards has asked about this. Anyone with personal experience? Other than referring to websites I don't know what to say. Someone will probably answer this patient but the number of users is naturally smaller than of this support board. Thanks, Fliss (UK)
Guest guest
Hi Fliss, After numerous stent placements with no success, I opted for the sphincteroplasty on my pancreatic duct. I was diagnosed with pancreas divisum in November of 2001. I had the surgery in August of 2002 and it gave me an extra month before I started to have attacks again. Seems now I have scar tissue and I still suffer attacks every 8-10 weeks that require a 4-5 day hospital stay. I knew that this would be a last option for me personally and if I had to do it over again I would. I was out of work for about 8 weeks and had an incision from my breastbone to below my belly button. Also had a nasal and a j-tube while in the hospital, the nasal tube was a little aggrevating and my throat a little sore once it was removed and I was lucky to not go home with the j-tube. If I were this person I would say go for it. Since every case is so different maybe they will have success. Take care, Judy Wakefield, VA
