Angie,

glad to help. Protein is often a problem for me, as well. Sometimes I can

tolerate smoothies when I can't tolerate meat. I actually found a protein

powder that doesn't make them taste horrible. It's EAS Advant Edge premimu

whey protein. I've used both the chocolate and vanilla. I like the vanilla

best because I like to make smoothies with yogurt and various frozen fruits.

I usually also add just a splash of milk. I make my smoothies in my Magic

Bullet blender mugs. I use about 4 oz of fat free no sugar added yogurt - I

usually use yogurt with fruit already in it, but vanilla works fine, also. I

use about a 1/2 scoop of protein powder - any more than that and you get that

protein powder taste that I don't like. When my bananas start to get old, I

peel them, break them into about 4 pieces and throw them in a ziplock bag in

the freezer. I buy bags of frozen strawberries, blueberries, or whatever I

happen to grab. I never make the smoothie the same. i just throw in whatever

combination I think sounds good. My daughter and son-in-law like the

chocolate protein powder. they make a smoothie with peanut butter, banana,

chocolate powder, and a few ice cubes. Even when I made the chocolate, I used

yogurt and/or milk in place of the ice cubes because it makes the smoothie

creamier and adds a little more protein.

Another thing i can sometimes tolerate when I can't tolerate meat is yogurt

mixed with cottage cheese. My daughter, who we used to call Picky Nikki,

suggested this as well as the brand of protein powder that I like. I know

yogurt mixed with cottage cheese may not sound good, but give it a try. Nikki

hated yogurt and cottage cheese alone but loves them together. For this I

prefer breyer's light yogurt (fat free/no sugar added). I mix about 4 oz of

yogurt with a heaping tablespoon (or maybe a little more) cottage cheese.

Sometimes nothing with any protein is appealing but maybe these suggestions

might help on your better days.

Well, we've been out of town for the weekend and just got home a few hours

ago. I am beat so I'm going to get ready for bed.

take care,

W
