Guest guest
Monday was my two month anniversary and I feel great! Still a little tired in the evenings but I'm sure that will get better. Having no trouble with foods. About the only thing I haven't tried much of is steak. Everything else seems to be fine. Most importantly I have lost 29 pounds in 2 months - not as fast as some but down is good after all! on MGB 10/04/00 Preop 275 -29 pounds in 2 months

Guest guest
Great job , congratulations. I am approaching 3 months ( 12/8/00 will be 3 months ) I think I just survived the ultimate test, a 7 day carribean cruise. I was very worried about being able to eat and enjoy all the food. It was no problem, I was able to try everything, even the deserts ( Shhhhhh, don't tell Dr. R.) everything stayed down fine. I can eat chocolate, cake, everything and no dumping or sickness at all, of course 4-5 bites and I am full of it. Mexican was tought only a bite or 2 and I stopped knowing it was going to be a problem. My biggest fear was eating everything and about 5 meals a day would make me gain weight. Of course Dr. R. told me to eat what I want, that he took care of what would absorb..... Of course I didn't believe him, Well guess what, I ate, and Ate, and Ate and lost 2.5 lbs on the cruise. I am amazed. AND I WORE SHORTS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER ON A CRUISE IN FRONT OF PEOPLE!!. That made up for the food. I rode a horse (Poor thing), Snorkeled with StingRays, and the grand finale was climbing the 600 foot Dunn River Falls in Jamaica, without getting out of breath once!!! LIFE IS GOOD. I have been down a little, because the 10 lb a week loss had stoped after 5 weeks. Is everyone as impatient as me? I found myself thinking how was I going to seof pay for a revision, and the clincher is I have lost 74 lbs in 3 months..... I have nerve to even think about it. I guess I am doing great, it's just I gained all 200 extra pounds over night, shouldn't I loose it that fast too? NOT~!!!! I started at 384, lost 20 Lbs the two weeks before surgery, for fear Dr. R. would say. NO your over 350 No way! So I was down to 364 at surgery time, he didn't ask, and I didn't volunteer the info ( Thanks Dr. R.). And I am now down to 294! My goal is at least another 100 lbs. I hope to have that much more gone at the one year mark, so thats another 9 months. Maybe , maybe not, but it's nice to think about. I wish everyone the success I have had and thanks for all the support. Bob
