As I have gotten older I am more concious of the benefits of minimizing flu effect and transmission by flu innoculation. Also, I think a pnmenoia shot every 5 years is a good idea too. Compromised health, age, the same if not increased exposure, the possible relationship between chronic Panc. and compromised immune system. It all adds up to a decision I would like to make the other way but with care and honesty I cannot. I do recommend to take very good care of oneself right after a flu shot, well hydrated, minimal stress, minimal exposure, rest and nourishment. FWIW, while not a topic on this board, I'm also concerned about the " avian " flu currently in the news. Our flu shot would be of no protection, (the pnmenoia shot would help), to the avian flu. While not really knowledgible about this concern, I seem to be aware that a lot of the professional health community is worried and that some contries are taking overt action in trying to control any outbreaks in bird populations. When the " big boys " get worried, then it hits my radar too. Best wishes, Poncho - GA (chicken growing capitol of the world)

Guest guest
-Yep, I know what you're talking about. I get my flu shots and encourage them also. But, the bird flu is really scaring me as well as the lack of vaccine, etc. Now that it's in Europe too, its even worrying me more. I am tempted to go back to work so I can get my hands on the Tamiflu and stockpile. (Now that is an impossible threat for me to carry out, so don't think I am awful. My girlfriend is going to England in three weeks and she is a little nervous and is looking for help at the U for vaccine or something. The odds don't look in our favor for this one. I hope they start producing the vaccine at record numbers for this one. -- In pancreatitis , poncho9191@a... wrote: > flu currently in the news.
