Guest guest
Hey Friends, I finally got into the doctor the other day..after waiting for 2 weeks! I told him all about my low sugar incidents and told him I didn't want to take the amaryl anymore and ask if there was something different I could try, and he is making me until he does some blood work. I also told him I've been very sick & very nauseated & vomiting & I told him I think I was getting dehydrated and I thought I needed some IV's and he wanted to send me to the ER, and I REFUSED! I have a med-a-port!-I tell him. Why can't I do the IV's at home! But he said, HE would feel better if I went to the ER, and I told him, but I won't feel better, its pure...well you-know-the-word...and I refused to go. I came home & went to bed. Here it is 3 days later, and I'm still sick. Should I go to the ER? Should I wait it out at home? What am I to do? I'm very frustrated. I hate the ER more then anything in this world! I am very reluctant to go, but then again I am getting kinda scared. I just don't know. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.... Lots of Hugs, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Guest guest
Did he do the blood work when you were there. Call and get the results and tell him again you are sick, dehydrated and want some home help that the ER is too much to handle. Maybe if your tests are back, he can tell what is going on and may be able to help you at home. I hope!!! BUT, if you are not improving at all you will need to go to the ER for fluids and stabilization. Is there an Urgent Care Center you can go to instead of the large ERs? Hope you feel better soon. >
Guest guest
, Why don't you get a letter from your doctor on their letterhead stating your diagnosis' and all the medications you are on and what they are for, how much and that you are not a drug seeker. Many of us have found that this can help turn around some ER doctors' opinions on us and get a bit better service... That might help just a bit with your reluctance to go to the ER when it is necessary to be there.. Regards, Ward PAI Administration Support dceward@... Guest guest
another option that might be viable to your doctor is Home Health. A nurse could come around and administer fluids and medicines, if your health insurance covers it... That could help the situation if your doctor doesn't feel comfortable with you doing it by yourself which might be his concern... Regards, again...
