Guest guest
Here's the email that introduced the " popcorn " cauliflower. I have to warn you. I'm addicted to it. It's great. Diane Cauliflower popcorn (from a newspaper) Who woulda thunk that cauliflower could actually become addictive? With this simple high-temperature roasting process known as caramelization, your basic off-the-rack cauliflower is miraculously transformed into sweet, lip-smackin' candy bombs you and your guests won't be able to get enough of. 1 head cauliflower 4 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp salt 1. Preheat oven to 425F, Cut out and discard cauliflower core and thick stems. Trim remaining cauliflower into florets the size of golf balls. In a large bowl, add cauliflower, olive oil and salt. Toss thoroughly. 2. Spread cauliflower on a baking sheet. Roast for 1 hour or until most of each floret has become golden brown. Turn 3 or 4 times during roasting. Serve immediately. Serves 6 to 8. Guest guest
I've never used frozen. I don't see why you couldn't though. I have to add that after 30 hour or so, I drain most of the water out of the pan. It makes it less soggy. Diane can u use frozen califlower? . Guest guest
Just wanted to let you know, I tried the cauliflower popcorn. At 425 degrees, shortly after putting it in the oven, smoke was every where. (Olive Oil is not made for high heat). I turned the oven down to 375 and the smoking stopped. However, my oven is a complete mess after the splattering at 425. Secondly, 1 tablespoon of salt is over kill. It was so salty we couldn't hardly eat it (and I love salt). I would recommend maximum of 1 teaspoon. Next time I will just lightly salt it with a salt shaker. The Olive Oil was a little overkill also. I would recommend lightly spraying or coating, but 4 tablespoons (depending on the size of the cauliflower head) is too much. Lightly salt and bake at 375F until golden brown. I think that will turn out really good. I plan on trying it again with the above modifications. Good Luck! --------------------------------- Get easy, one-click access to your favorites. Guest guest
I've used olive oil every time and haven't had any trouble. I don't know why the difference. Diane
Guest guest
>>I've used olive oil every time and haven't had any trouble. I don't know why the difference. Diane<< I made it with my homemade Ghee the other day and it was delicious! Better than the Olive oil and the Ghee can take higher temperatures than the Olive Oil.
