" Alun " , chemical as above, is used (in small amounts) for play-clay

(homemade Play-dooh) to make it less sticky (esier to work with) and

as a preservative. Is it SCD legal, and what about the aluminium part?

Thank you for any advice.

Sheila, thank you so much for colour ideas!

K-Al-SO4 is also known as Potassium Alum. It does contain aluminum

but the form is different. Is it completely safe? - There seems to be

some debate back and forth. If you are going to make your own play

clay you could probably do without it - just remember to wrap up the

clay tightly between uses.

It is not a food additive so I can't really comment on SCD legality.

It is different than aluminum used in regular antipersperants etc.

Most of what I have read says that it is too large too be absorbed by

the body and that it has a negative ionic so it wouldn't be absorbed

like some other molecules. However, I don't know if this applies to

someone with gut issues and whose body has trouble processing toxins.
