Guest guest
I have had 3 days of tee total He**. I wanted them to do the surgery yesterday! I was absolutely miserable, even with the patches the pain was unbearable. I couldn't eat, couldn't sleep. All I could do was get on my heating pad take my breakthrough meds like it was candy and pray. Finally today, I felt some better. My left side feels like it has been beaten with a baseball bat. If I had not gotten relief today I was going to have to go to the ER. AS much as I hate to go, I was that miserable. I am going to ask my pain doc if there is something she can do about giving me something stronger than oxycodone for breakthrough pain that gets severe. That way I can have it on hand and don't have to go to the ER. She may not do it but it won't hurt to ask. One thing she did do that shocked me was, she wrote a 3 month prescription for my patches. My insurance company likes for us to do mail-order on most of our scripts that are considered daily meds. It is $12.00 for the 3 month supply of pain patches versus $340.00 if I get them from the pharmacy. So that saved me a bunch of dough! I still have to go once a month for my breakthrough med but I don't mind that. She did me a huge favor. Anyway, I just had to include ya'll in my pity party. Thanks for listening! Guest guest
Angie I am so sorry that you are having such a rough go. I hate this disease; attacks can just come out of the blue. Even if you do everything right. I truly hope you feel better soon. I was wondering tho, maybe you could ask your PM doc to increase your patch dosage. I cant recall what the dosage is you are taking now. It does seem to help you with your pain control but you may need just to increase the dosage a little. Oh and BTW, I may go and see Dr. A this wednesday instead of next, Nov 2. I know we had discussed meeting again on that date. I am not doing very well. These adhesions are killing me and if I even wear the slightest thing around my waiste it is excrutiating. I also think I have another hernia. I am not sure but it does appear to be. I have had so many now I think I am practically an expert on them. I dont know, haven't decided just yet whether to change the appt date or not. That last hernia repair turned out to be a horrid nightmare of an ordeal and I just dont think I can emotionally or physically handle any more. I am seeing my PCP tomorrow as I am almost out of pain meds and would not have nearly enough to get me through 2 more weeks until I am scheduled to see Dr. A. I am extrememly upset by this and feel that I am at the end of my rope. Well I do hope you will feel better and better every day. Increasing the dose of your patch may just do the trick. It worked out well for Anyse, remember. Please keep in touch and let me know if there is anything I can do. You know how to reach me. Tell Matt I said hello. Warmly, christine
Guest guest
, Thanks so much. I am going to see my pain doc tomorrow. I am almost out of my breakthrough pain med. I am going to ask her if we can do something stronger for breakthrough pain to have on hand when I have the attacks and to up the dosage of the patch. We were thinking on the same wavelength! I have been having a good pity party the past few days. It has really tested me. Thanks goodness I have a good pain doc. I called today to see if she could see me next week. Her nurse answered the phone and said she won't be here much next week due to a conference. And everything was booked up. I told her what was going on and she said she would see me tomorrow. They are awesome! Everyone in the office is very nice and very caring. I hate that you are having so many problems. How do you think you got another hernia? Is it near the same place as last one. Let me know what happens. Love ya'! Angie " The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything that comes along their way.
