Guest guest
Dear Folks, My 83 year old father is having some mental loss and other age related problems, and has asked my brother and me to come up to his home in Lake Placid, NY, this weekend to talk about needing help. This is a breakthrough for us, since we've been trying to get him to accept his decline and adjust his work and living situation to acknowledge this, thus far with no success due to his stubborness. But he finally admitted this week that he needed some help. I just wanted to let you all know because after Friday I won't be able to get on the message board for several days while I'm up there handling this situation with my dad, my brother and his wife. We aren't quite sure what the outcome of this visit will be, but it may be that one of us will be bringing Dad back with us, either to Virginia with my brother, or down to SC with me. So I'll be offline for several days, and I just didn't want any one to think I was ignoring you or not caring about what was going on. I hope that all of you will have some better days, and that you older members will keep an eye out for any new comers and help them with your experience, your caring, and your concern. You are all such a great group of people that I know you'll all do a wonderful job of looking out for each other! I'll be in and out for the next day or so, and then will be back online when I return from NY. So if there's anything I can do for anyone, please ask now......or otherwise hold your peace.....LOL!!
