Guest guest
Heidi, They don't intend to send him home until he can eat solid foods again. Last week the doctor said he can come home on a full liquid diet, but has since changed his mind. Matt (my husband) has been up to a full liquid diet twice already, but took turns for the worse each time. How does someone know when to apply for Social Security? I don't want to jump the gun, but I know it can take a long time. We may not even need it. The doctors keep giving us the best case scenarios, but those aren't working out and they don't seem to be willing to risk guessing on the worst. I know that this is a disease whose progression is more " wait and see " than anything else, but I am afraid to wait too long. Guest guest
Jeanette, Given the time needed for the application process, you might as welll start now. The sooner you start, the sooner you will get your grant. Jerry/NC *************************************** > > Heidi, > > They don't intend to send him home until he can eat solid foods > again. Guest guest
I started my paperwork for disablity when I was 22 and I got disablity when I was 24. There was a deadline and I had missed being able to try to claim by about 2-3 months. It helped that I had worked for about a month or tried to work anyways. I don't think you can never jump the gun about going ahead and turning in the paperwork ASAP. Now it will take at least 2-3 yrs to try to get to the hearing stages. I was turned down three times which i have come to find out is the norm. My advice is to start making your own file with all the paperwork from your doc's, all test results, X'ray's,Ultrasounds and always get a letter every year from your PCP stating what you have, how limited you are to work at anything ie, answering phones, bookwork, and filing. If you already have a degree that will probably count against you I hate to say. If you have any questions please feel free to ask... > > > > > > Jeanette, > > > > > > Feel free to post any questions here that one of us may be able to > > help you with.
