Guest guest
I have read all of the posts and my heart goes out to so many of you. Usually, I try to at least send private emails to the new folks and public ones to the rest. However, as I am not doing as well as I would like to do, I am making this one it for today. To the one whose husband is in a nursing home, I grieve for you. I would try to get him out of there as quickly as possible. I know that you are waiting for him to get from clear liquids to something more substantial. However, it seems that no one is really responsible for his care there and this makes me think that all that they are doing is " dumping " him there in order to save money. Get a list of his doctors there and the responsibilities of each for his care. If they can not do that, DEMAND that they move him back to the hospital where he can get care in the various areas needed and can get a couple of doctors who can and will be responsible for his overall care. Heidi, the best to you and yours at this difficult juncture of a parent moving to a position of being cared for rather than being the " patriarch. " Hard on all of you and, knowing you as well as I do, I am sure that you will succeed at this rather well. Kurt, I am happy that you had such a nice trip. What I would give to be able to make the same journey to the Met, Guggenheim, Cloistures, and on and on. Did not hear of one health complaint during your trip. I am so happy for you. Mark, I do not wait for Romulan ale as the wait time is just too long for me (if they could just beam me up a few cases, that would be fine!). Until then, I will just drink Arrogant Bastard Ale (that's its real name!), porter, and stout. I long for a long trip back to my good health again and, when I do drink my very seldom bottle of a " pint and six, " I dream not of coming back to Ireland and think of a journey back to health and the joy that that brings. Please, don't get on me about not drinking " anything " at all with this disease. It just won't help and that " pint and six " is only a couple of times each year. Should you get any of that Romulan ale, please, share a pint, quart, or whatever or two. We could go on our video cameras and chat and philosophize and just spend a few moments getting away from this daily grind of our illness. I don't mean to leave too many others out. I have been trying to reach Karyn a few times for some business related things with PAI and I know that she will call me when she gets back home. My health, while the pain is now virtually nil most of the time, has not done well in the gastric department. I am eating a lot less and throwing up more. I don't know why. I haven't been eating anything that would be considered off of the " diet. " Each day is misery and I can't even work on a computer or two that I have in the kitchen to get any money from that and that has been two weeks now. This will, as do all things, go away in time. I just have to be patient. Take care. Anyse
