Guest guest
Our daughter stopped chelation Oct 31. She had constipation problems, her stools were ball like and never formed and despite using the constipation protocol they never really improved. This was one of the reasons for stopping the chelation. We felt her GI tract needed more time to heal. Her behaviour has become very irrational, impossible to placate, and very contraditory. She stimms more than usual. I can't say it coincides completely with htis, but it has got worse since. We have started Vit K protocol, but have not yet started the Vit K2 yet. Please help. I can't bear seeing what appears to be a regression- the sort of behaviour we were seeing pre- DAN!. If it is die off, at least I know it's temporary. Thank you, . Guest guest
Are you doing the bicarb and salt part of the K protocol yet? If not, you can also do Elaine's Electrolyte Drink... from www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info . It has helped a lot of constipated kids. Sips, frequently, throughout the day is best. Replace the honey w/ saccharin if yeast is an issue. It's pretty common, unfortunately, for yeast to flare up during or after chelation, so that could explain some of this. Did you return to the Intro Diet for a day or so? Simplify all her foods to the very beginning stages. Bananas and cooked apples contribute to firming up the stool, so be careful with those. How much magnesium are you giving her... and what form? Patti Yeast die off? Our daughter stopped chelation Oct 31. Guest guest
Although magnesium citrate is good for having a laxative effect, I would honestly switch to a different form of magnesium right now.... as mag citrate can also act to dissolve CaOx crystals, freeing up calcium, which can be ultra stimulating. That's what I'm guessing is going on for her, and causing the behavior. Magnesium glycinate is generally a good one for calming. You might try a combination of that plus a dose of mag oxide (at LEAST 400 mgs) to help with constipation. Mag glycinate won't have any laxative effect, but the oxide should... oxide doesn't work terribly well for calming the neurology, though. That's why I like to combine it with glycinate. Kirkman has a legal mag glycinate... it's #096. And mag oxide #257. I know their website says that magnesium oxide tends to firm stools.... but honestly, that has not been my experience at all. And I think most people here would agree that it has more of a laxative effect. You might have to give more of it, though. DO remember to do epsom salts baths.... or lotion. That's another way to absorb magnesium for calming. And DO be sure to use the Electrolyte Drink for constipation! Patti Re: Yeast die off?
