reaching fermenting temperature

Hi

it takes 6 hours for the yogurt to reach fermenting temperature 100 -115 then I

start

counting 24 hours from that moment.That is a total of 30 hours.Is that correct.

It's 24 to 28 hours from the momnt you start at leat when using the light bulb

method. ( I

have no yohurt maker)

You start timing the yogurt once the yogurt reaches the fermenting

temperature. The time it takes to reach the fermentation doesn't count

(in your case 6 hours).

Hi Carol,

Sorry, but it doesn't matter what method you use - the timing of the

24 hour time period starts once the milk reaches the fermenation

temperature.

From BTVC, " ...let stand for at least 24 hours at 100-110°F(38-43°

C).... "
