hi,everyone,

i hope everyone is doing well today.i just have a few

questions.i know we are all diffrent in how frequent we have

attacks/flare-ups, but since i had that bad attack in sept. after

ercp, 2 days in hospital,i have been feeling alot better.in fact i

haven't felt this well in about a year. but i still wake up

everyday, and everytime i eat, just waitng for it to happen again.i have

even eaten a few " no-no " foods with no bad effects.not that i want it

to happen, but have any of you at the begining of your disease think

maybe the drs. are wrong and that you don't have cp? how long have any

of you went between attacks? i know this sounds silly, like i'm in

denial, maybe? the only symptom i'm having is a little more weight

loss, even tho my appetite is back to normal.some nausea, but i eat

anyway. thank you for answering.and a pain-free day to all.

-Hi Cindy,

I had two really bad attacks (hospitalized) in 2003. Since then I

went almost two years with no flare ups and minor problems. I took my

enzymes, ate low fat most of the time (cheated occasionally) and

became very complacent that I wasn't going to have any more attacks.

So I ate more of what I shouldn't, wasn't quite as careful to be sure

I ate only low fat. And for almost two years it worked. In July of

this year I had the first of three small attacks. None of them have

hospitalized me but it gave me a wake up call that the disease is just

sleeping. It is still there. My most recent mini attack was

yesterday. They are enough to put me in pain to where I have to take

pain medication to not be in agony but I have managed to control them

at home. Take my advice, don't mess with the recommendations. Eat

low fat, take your enzymes, don't drink and hope that the sleeping

dragon stays asleep for a long time. I am now going to tow the line

and be very very good, cause these mini attacks have reminded me what

this disease really is.

wow 2years! that would be nice.i have already gave up my baby-sitting jobs(too

many little elbows poking me in the stomach, which hurt like the dickens!! but

since feeling so good lately, all i do is sit around and i really miss " my "

little ones.to late to go back now.all are in daycare, contracts signed

ect....i'm hesitant to even try to get an outside job, what if i get sick

again.true,i didn't make a bundle,but we are definitly feeling the pinch.luckly

my boys are old enough (17) to get part-time jobs,so that takes care of thier

" wants " . sorry to rattle on,as i said to much time on my hands i'm just really

bored sitting around all the time. thanks for writing back and take care.
