Guest guest
hi laura, my offical diagnoses is " chronic relapsing pancreatitis " . i do have calcifacation and a pseudocyst on the head of my pancreas.my dr. said my pancreas is " smoldering " ,whatever that means.some days i feel fine, other days i'll have just nausea,(most days),other days pain and nausea and then some days i can't even get out of bed.i have only been hospitalized once and that was following ERCP just last month. and,boy do i understand your frustration about finding a good doctor.when i had my 1st acute attack in 98 the dr.was great, then.never had any problems getting meds, appts., he would always call back ect...so when my pcp decided to send me to a gi i asked for the same one.in 98 he was in a office by himself, now he is in with a large group and its really hard to get an appt.i was diagnosed in march and did'nt get in to see him till august.after being discharged from the hospital last month,i called to make a follow-up and can't get in till dec. so i'll probaly be looking for a new one before long.but, luckily i have the name of one in my area. i got his name from someone on this board.so hang in there, hopefully you'll find one soon, also! is there anyone on the board in your area who can give you a referral? well, good luck and i hope you get better soon. cindy
