Guest guest
Anyse, My doc said that. He is an amazing man. I wish you lived closer and could get to see him. I respect him and he knows exactly what this illness does to us. He doesn't sugarcoat it. Dr. Adam's is amazing. He is doing another surgery on me and I trust him. I was really scared at first but after talking to and praying about it. I am ready! I sound like spongebob. I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready! LOL! Guest guest
Well, as many of you know, I have had my Fentanyl increased from 75 to 150 every three days. Interesting things happen when one gets one problem under control. Another seems to take its place with a vengeance! Now, I am barely able to eat at all. My stomach is so " tight " that it seems that no matter what I eat, it just makes it worse. I can just eat a bit of dinner and go ballistic in the nausea department and all that I ate, no matter how little, has been moved to my handy " bucket. " Later, the pain, tightness, and discomfort continue for hours and then I use the " bucket " again, only this time I throw up about 6-8 times what I threw up earlier. Compazine does not seem to help and I used to be on antacids and they caused even more problems because of the overall plumbing on my Whipple has my stomach all messed up. I am living with this practically daily since I got back from Las Vegas the last week in September. What I do know is happening is that my pancreatitis is getting worse then before and that the flare ups are causing my stomach to respond in this manner. I know that I am slipping rather regularly into a worse health condition day by day now. I just hope that it will become equalized and stop getting worse. Someone here said that cp is a progressive, degenerative disease. I will attest to that and, to me this is surprising, that her doctor had that ba**s to tell her so. So many will NEVER tell us this and, as time goes along, the phrase, " I hope that you get better soon, " becomes hallow and is something only for the Hallow Men of T. S. Eliot. Take care. Guest guest
>Hi Anyse- My experience on the Fentanyl patch was also a lot of nausea.I believe one of the listed side effects is nausea. My doc prescribed Zofran which has done wonders- it is a non-narcotic and very powerful. I first heard about it while in the hospital. If you have not already tried or considered this med, it's worth it. Hope you get some releif soon- I think you may also get some releif once you " accomodate " to the higher level of the pain med. > Well, as many of you know, I have had my Fentanyl increased from 75 > to 150 every three days. > > Interesting things happen when one gets one problem under control. > Another seems to take its place with a vengeance! > > Now, I am barely able to eat at all.
