Guest guest
Hi all, I just found out that I'm pregnant (for the first time). Its kind of a shock since we weren't planning on this yet, but obviously God has other timing. I haven't told my hubby yet, that will be tonight's activity. I think he kind of suspects it since I've been nauseous all week and I missed my cycle. I went on SCD in August to try to fight my yeast issues since I know that it can be passed on to the baby. I wanted to be on SCD for at least a year and have many foods under my belt before I attempted to be a mom (scary idea) and go through food cravings. Ugh. Right now the only foods that look appetizing to me are either illegal or very advanced. Is it better not to eat in the early stages then to consume something that is too advanced? So far today I ate 2 cubes of Swiss cheese and a small amount of beginner cranberry sauce (made from cran juice, applesauce, honey and gelatin). I have been trying to drink, but right now we only have water and grape juice. I'm hoping my hubby can make some chicken broth so I can add that in my juice. This is worse than any die off I had! Tomorrow I have a long workday. I clean houses and we've got to cram some of Thursday's houses on to Wednesday schedule so everyone can be off for Thanksgiving. Ugh! I've been so sleepy and absent minded and this is only just beginning. O.K. I have a thousand questions but for now, I'll only bother you all with one. I was reading on http://www.roboranch.com/blog/archives/001041.php (a blog of an SCDer) about her pregnancy tips. She recommend a SCD-legal prenatal vitamin by Kirkmas Labs called Prenatals. I clicked on the link and was reading the ingredients and saw that it listed iron. Since I know iron is not allowed on SCD. Does anyone know of a different prenatal vitamin, or should I just take this one because the baby needs it (I personally have not had any bowl issues before this pregnancy)? If anyone wants to share there ideas or experience feel free to contact me off list. I may take a day or two to respond depending on how wiped out I am from work. Guest guest
Congratulations, Mama-to-be! I would definitely discuss the iron issue with your doctor. It seems to me that a heavy-duty iron supplement is standard operating procedure for pregnant women and there may be a good reason for it. I hope someone who is closer to this type of event will have more information on this for you. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
