Guest guest
I am new to the SCD idea. Just got my book and know this is worth trying. My delimma is that my son's birthday is just three weeks away, then there is Christmas. I am up for the preparing of his/my foods to do this. I am not sure if I completely understand how to do the beginning and so I think clarifications will help me. I understand the first 2-5 days. Where do I begin to go after that? If I have missed this in the book, please be patient with me and direct me to the steps. Thanks. Suma
Guest guest
The steps are on the web site, not in the book. http://www.pecanbread.com Be familiar with the whole web site before you get going on the diet. It is very helpful! B. ASD son, RA self, SCD Nov. 2007 > I am new to the SCD idea. Just got my book and know this is worth > trying. Guest guest
I have found that being very clear on your boundaries, as far as the diet goes, is key. I find that when I waiver, feel sorry for, or am not consistent that my daughter picks up on it straight away. I just keep trying to immerse myself in the incredible struggle she experiences on " regular " food helps me stand strong. I have had, however, to hit walls with Ella. We are now at a place where she accepts the fact that she can have a very limited amount of foods and trusts (somehow) that she will feel better and that it won't always be this way. She is 3 and one of the bravest little souls I know. Keep in touch with the group and click on all the links on the pecanbread website...print it all out and bind it! Guest guest
Hi, Suma, If you start SCD (with intro diet) before your son's birthday, it will be too soon for nut flour and he will not be able to have a cake. When we were in this situation, we made a pyramid of baked pear halves to use as a cake. Everyone loved them. We also made banana ice cream by freezing bananas and then putting thme in the food processor with some vanilla and a bit of pineapple juice. The banana ice cream is very good. Or, you might want to just do all SCD legal foods for a while, nut flour included, and go back and do the intro after Christmas. Your son's progress will be slower probably, but you'll have more choices for birthday and Christmas foods. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
