Guest guest
I saw a recipe for muffins that used a jar of squash baby food. Is that SCD legal? Thanks! Diane SCD 7 weeks
Guest guest
Hi Diane, Sorry, but no. Commercial baby food is not legal. Squash is very easy to prepare you can use any of the winter squashes: buttercup, butternut, acorn etc.. To cook them you can steam, boil or bake them. Guest guest
Thanks Sheila. I cook squash all the time, but I thought it would be nice in a pinch. The reason I ask is because I thought the site it came from was SCD, but I didn't think buying a jar of food would be legal. Diane Hi Diane, Sorry, but no. Commercial baby food is not legal. Guest guest
Hi Diane, To save a little time maybe use frozen squash. It saves the cutting and dicing step. Guest guest
I think frozen squash is legal, you could keep it in the freezer for those " pinch " moments. I get it at Fred Meyers. Teena
Guest guest
Hi, I bet your talking about Stan's caveman muffins. I use banana's or fresh squash in place of the baby food it turns out kind of undone so my secret is using it in muffins tin with liners otherwise it will burn on the outside and be undone on the inside. Also use a food processor, whipping will give it more air. Personally I like the cashew muffins on the website much better and they turn out better, I felt like I was eating a real muffin. --------------------------------- Be a better sports nut! Guest guest
Yes, I was talking about the Caveman muffins. I thought he was SCD, that's why I asked. I've found several muffin recipes on pecanbread.com that are wonderful. Diane Hi, I bet your talking about Stan's caveman muffins.
