Guest guest
, It's true that by the third day on the patch it's done it's course. For several months when my pain was consistantly more severe, by the third day I was miserable again and back on the oxy every 3 hours. During those times my doctor would write the scripts for a change every 48 hours, instead of 72, and that worked fine. The literature even talks about a 48 hour usage somewhere, although they " say " it's continuous for 72. I can always tell when I'm on the third day, too, you just don't get an adequate coverage. But it looks like you're not going to have to worry about this too much longer, anyway, ....you lucky gal! Keep yourself clearheaded and happy as long as you can! Guest guest
>Hi Heidi- I continue to relate to your experience only I was too afraid to take break tbrough pain meds so I tended to tough it out. I really believe that patients should be taught more about the patch in terms of how to use it, how to tell when it is not working up to speed and what it's limitations are. Yes- I do consider myself extremely lucky- especially given the tremendous difficulties faced by many who post here. However, I also know these " good " spells can be temporary and even fleeting.I do not take anything for granted here. I continue to do fairly well. I struggle the most with nausea which appears and disappears mysteriously. In December I will have another Catscan to see what is happening with my pseudocysts (three of them). I absolutely detest those scans but I am eager to see what progress (or lack thereof) those cysts are making. Hope you are feeling reasonably well. > , > > It's true that by the third day on the patch it's done it's course. > For several months when my pain was consistantly more severe, by the > third day I was miserable again and back on the oxy every 3 hours. > During those times my doctor would write the scripts for a change > every 48 hours, instead of 72, and that worked fine. > > The literature even talks about a 48 hour usage somewhere, although > they " say " it's continuous for 72.
