Guest guest
Group, I rarely post, but read everyday. I WAS so enthusiastic about this group.... I would read all the encouraging mail, the trouble spots, the glory each of you have shared, etc. I read as you congratulate newcomers and pre-ops, and those just receiving insurance approval. Not one soul here has even spoke to me the few times I did post except in Ohio, who had the RNY. My disappointment is beyond words. I have felt very " overlooked " for lack of a better word. Usually I see most of this group respond to almost every one out here....for some reason except me. Maybe I am just feeling blue right now, but I thought with getting insurance approval I would have heard something from someone...Maybe this isn't the group I need. I feel excited for all that I read about that will be " dancing " or those with approval that have been waiting. I am still " new " to this egroup, but AM discouraged..... Just getting my feelings out there.... Lynnette

Guest guest
Sheesh! Are we messing up here? Lynette, please don't take your lack of responses personally. We don't know you, certainly don't dislike you. I am sorry that you've not been responded to. I keep thinking that I need to shut up and let others do the talking, and so I have often chosen not to respond, assuming others would. And I'll bet some others have done the same. I am so happy for you having gotten insurance approval. That's a huge hurdle to have behind you. I promise to look for your name and respond to you for as long as I'm on this site. One thing you'll experience yourself, after you've crossed over, is that we get back into our lives after surgery, and have less and less time for this life-sustaining site. Before surgery, we're obsessed and on this site all the time. Afterwards we wean ourselves. You are a welcome and important part of this dialogue. Sorry we didn't let you feel that. Please, keep telling us about your path toward this new life. We're here, even if we're not always paying absolute attention! Fondly, PhillyJude

Guest guest
Lynnette, Please do not be discouraged. I am someone who posts more than I should, I do get some responses, but many times none. As you can see there is some e-mail bonding that is going on this site. I tend to get sensitive myself at times and I did have a slow start getting people to even answer my private E-mail requests for contacts. Several who post a lot totally ignored my request even when I just asked if I could use information they put on the main E-mail. I have a friend who is trying to get the surgery as well, EVERYONE she has E-mailed responded to her!! That really made me feel overlooked!!! I have however, met several truly wonderful people who were kind, considerate and thoughtful. Please keep in mind that there are a lot of people on this site and sometimes it is overwhelming when you get over a hundred group e-mails a day!! I am trying myself to get approved by the insurance company and to finish my packet. If you E-mail me I will respond. at bedsoleboyd2@.... Good Luck and keep up those spirits!! :-) On Sun, 10 Dec 2000 18:39:04 EST Lynnwrks2a@... writes: > Group, > > I rarely post, but read everyday. I WAS so enthusiastic about this > group.... Guest guest
Lynnette, Please don't feel ignored. I, too, felt the same way for awhile. Sometimes I still do. But, this is the greatest bunch of people. They certainly don't mean to make anyone feel left out or unwanted on the list. We all just get caught up in this exciting life that we have found and occasionally slip up. Just keep posting and hang in there and if there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know. If you have insurance approval you are over the biggest hurdle and on your way. Congratulations and I hope you will be joining us on the other side soon. Guest guest
Lynnette, Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I feel that I am a newcomer myself, I mostly post when I have questions to ask. However I do read almost every post, but I usually leave the answering to others who have more experience than I do. Congrats on your insurance approval, I am scared to death I am going to be turned down; but then I've got alot of work to do before I even get to that point. Do you have a date yet? Best of luck. Guest guest
PhillyJude, I really appreciate your e-mail. I no longer feel ignored. I am just a bit crazy.. You know that we all need comforting and being new is scary in itself. I meant for that post to be sent privately, as a comfort that she is not alone thinking her thoughts and being " overly sensitive " . We probably all have issues with acceptance. I did not mean you. The people I spoke of I do not see much on here any more. My kids are driving me crazier than I seem to already be!! I meant to respond to Flo privately as well... Oh well, call it tiredness... I am anxious to dance as well... I do not take the silence personally, well maybe sometimes, but then I get over it and get a reality check!! There are a LOT of e-mailers on this group and it can be overwhelming for the post-ops. We are really a bunch of " needful things " at times in our frenzy to get the surgery. Please don't be worried and know you are not one of the people I spoke of. I am sure I probably e-mailed them at a bad time. You are great and I can't wait to read your progress reports. I guess I am living vicariously through you post-ops. I am looking forward to experiencing it for myself!!! I have never felt so accepted and really understood as I have on this e-group. Guest guest
Terri, I have a real stupid reply to your last paragraph and please do not take me at all seriously. If you are living in -33 degree wind chill weather, you do not want this surgery. I am in Western North Carolina and our lows at night are usually low 40's right now and I am FREEZING. I have always been hot natured and loved cold weather. But since surgery, my feet just plain get cold. Now listen, that is not a reason for not having surgery. Just a lighter note. We wish you all the luck in the world. If you do not have all your contacts, let me know by private email. bettyjohn@... Love to ya. Betty Re: At a loss >Hi > >I'm new to this group too. Guest guest
Terri, If I am not mistaken the mammogram is required for anyone who should be having one anyway. Your family history and the doctor's opinon are what decides it, I think. After a certain age it is required. Just ask if the Dr. would normally have told you that you needed one. sbb On Mon, 11 Dec 2000 09:43:35 -0500 " The Dunn's " writes: > Hey Terri, > > Good luck on your mammogram.
