Hey Jerry! I know you from the other list. Anyways, I'm female, 45,

have Sjogren's syndrome. My panc was initally triggered by gallstones

caused by my ped doc putting me on a stupid diet when I was 12. Then

the gallstones were mis'dx'd and things went downhill from there.

I've had some really wacky liver stuff go on (more bloodwork and

poking on Thursday, gosh don't you love doctors-LOL!) I'm on Viokase,

Pepcid, Lactulose, nitroglycerine (for spasm) and various stuff for

pain as needed. When I get real bad I go on nothing but enteral

formula. I'm a big fan of Peptamen-tastes like crap, but makes the

dratted panc calm down. I probably won't post much since I'm useless

and grumpy a lot of the time (<G>).I hope everyone is feeling as well

as possible today.

Peptamen is a weird tasting, very expensive prescription medical

formula by Nestle. Its kind of an alternative to TPN when resting the

panc

Here's a link

there is an article as well...

" Peptamen: A novel therapy in patients with chronic pancreatitis

Gastroenterology (1997) vol 112: A441

S D Freedman "

Did they tell you everything would clear up when you had your

gallbladder out?-boy were they wrong w/me.
