Take care, Congrats Liana, 's remark for some reason reminded me of my first child, a boy, and of bringing him home from the hospital. I set the baby in the car carrier on the floor and turned to get stuff out of the car or help the new mama, my dog at the time, a bouvier, took one sniff of the baby and then didn't leave the baby for about three years. I had heard of such a reaction of a pet to a new born but was still amazed to see it. That dog was the " watch dog of all time' " toward that child. The second child about 2 1/2 years later got much the same treatment. I think both kids stood up for the first time assisted by a firm grip with each hand on dog fur.
