Guest guest
Dear fellow listers, Here is my son's situation. is 2.8 yrs. old, PDD-NOS diagnosis, has been SCD minus casein since 11/5/07, and GFCF since 9/29/07. also takes MB12 shots every other night, DMG, L-Carnitine, Brain Child Super Sensitive Vits. and Min., calcium supp., No Phenol, Kirkman's Enzym Complete DPP-IV II, B6, Mag. Citrate (1/4 tsp. to help with the constipation), CLO and Folonic Acid. Over the holiday, I introduced almond flour (diarrhea has been cleared for a long time) in the form of pie crust and cookies. For the past few days, he has been very constipated (will have 1-2 BM's but they are pellets that are hard a a rock). Then on Thursday, he did not have one at all and only one on Friday. This afternoon, while we were out running errands, he started vomiting. It was foul smelling with what looked like strings in it. When we got home I decided that it was time for additional assistance, and gave him a suppository. Within minutes, he had a BM, but it was like sandy pellets. So my question is, what do I do next to get his body going more regularly. While I am waiting for a call from his DAN Dr., I thought I would come to you guys for assistance with this matter. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. --------------------------------- Be a better sports nut! Let your teams follow you with Yahoo Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
Hi Kelley, Your son is not ready for the nut flours. Some kids cannot tolerate the nut flours for the first months of SCD. Some kids may take as long as 6 months before being able to tolerate nut flours.. Please read this website. I WANT ALL NEWBIES TO READ IT. http://www.pecanbread.com/new/nutdiet.html Pecans and hazelnut butters are easier to digest but I would wait months before introducing those foods. Please go back to the intro diet for a few days.
