I had my first Pancreatitis attack in July 2003. I had another attack

about every 4-6 weeks until it became chronic in March 2004 when I

also developed Diabetes. I have been hospitalized somewhere between 20-

25 times in the past 2 1/2 years. I have had 4 nerve blocks done with

little success. Right now I am on 100mcg Duragesic patch, 400mcg Actiq

(Fentanyl lollipops) and 180 Percocet a month. I have a really high

tolerence now and sometimes there is no escaping the pain. Last time I

was in the hospital they had me on 12mg of Diluidid every 3 hours, and

even that didn't take away all the pain. Has anyone had any

procedures, surgeries or meds that have helped? I take digestive

enzymes when I eat, have a low fat vegetarian diet and all that. I am

going to have an MRCP and more blood test to find out if a genetic

mutation is causing this. I'm only 28 and I hate that life is passing

me by. I spend most of my time laying around because I have no energy

or I'm in pain. Does anyone else live in the NYC area? I have a great

primary doc but I'm just so frustrated that nothing can be done to

help me. Has anyone else dealt with depression as a result of CP? I

started seeing a therapist 2 weeks ago. Hopefully that will help!
