Guest guest
Hi, CJ, That must be so hard! Your solutions are good: the best of bad choices. I never had this trouble because was 8 when we started and had been GFCF for a year. I remember Jody G said that she had picked up a Scooby Doo waffle iron at Wal-mart (I don't think they have them any more) and sent her boys sandwiches to school on Scooby Doo waffle bread. All the other kids thought that Jody's boys' sandwiches were way cooler than their own. I hate to give you more work to do, but maybe you can think of something that looks really cool like gelatin shapes or something like that. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for your reply. Yes, I think the hardest part about this diet is: getting caught away from the house for too long and having to eat out (almost impossible at this stage), eating too much meat, and the snacktime at school. Thanks for your suggestion. Although, my son hates gelatin, apparently. He wouldn't touch it on the intro diet. I guess we'll stick with the " do something else " until if/when that doesn't work anymore. CJ ... son 3 SCD since 10/20/07 > > Hi, CJ, > That must be so hard! Guest guest
Hi I just started (14 days) on SCD. My son is 10 and I am frantic also about snacks AND lunch.Tuesday, formerly pizza day and 's favorite... is now a nightmare. Thursday--French Fry from the deli day.... I did just purchase an extra v-smile pocket game (59.95 on sale at Target) so that when yummy food is eaten in front of his wanting nose... there is something to distract with besides a celery stick. Something fun and special and cool. I am all for the cool waffles and such... I try to make things LOOK more appealing... and I think it helps. School has yet to be attended since getting serious with diet,... I am planning on starting for 2 hours, after lunch maybe tomorrow...and slowly work backwards into a whole day. He still is de-toxing... so symptoms are pretty severe at times.. at least 4 times a day. We don't have lots of $$, but I feel like I need to just get this going right... and if a v-smile in the classroom helps... it's worth it. I do have an awesome teacher for my son, but her dad just died...and she is not in great shape... I had bad timing with starting this, but had no choice.. my son was in loads of pain.. anyhow, thanks for discussing this...any ideas are appreciated and avidly read!!!
