Guest guest
My daughter is on stage one of the diet. She is also GFCF. So far she likes scrambled eggs, banana pancakes, hamburgers, chicken nuggets with cooked mayo, applesauce and pearsauce. She will not touch any veggies. She eats alot of bananas, but I am trying to cut that way down. I am not much of a cook, so I need some more food ideas. She does not like the gelatin or the chicken pancakes. I also need something for her to take as a snack to school. Thanks, Adrienne PS When can I start nut butter?
Guest guest
You might try some Sneaky Veggie Pancakes (www.pecanbread.com). You can also put veggies in smoothies and popsicles. Most people digest winter squash well. You can send Squash Buttons to school. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/message/58967 When you try nut butter, try it in a very small amounts and watch for reactions. Increase amounts slowly. I think you should concentrate on getting some veggies into her diet one way or another first. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
, This may be a stupid question, but one I've been wondering about. You and others mention introducing new foods in small amount to watch for reactions. I'm wondering if small amounts would show the reaction. Why not use a larger amount so a reaction will show clearly and you would know for sure? Diane When you try nut butter, try it in a very small amounts and watch for reactions. Guest guest
Hi, Diane, Yes, you could do that. But sometimes a person can handle only a certain amount of something. Maybe they can handle 1 apple, but cannot handle more than one apple. If they give unlimited apples one day and see a bad reaction, they might stop apples completely, which would be unfortunate. If they start with a slice of apple and work up, they will find exactly what they can tolerate. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
