Guest guest
Hello, My 11 year old son was on the SCD for about a year and a half a few years ago. He did fine when we came off of it, until now. Over Thanksgiving he was given several things with sugar in them.. :-( His irritability is quite high now, and I'm guessing that his clostridia has returned. When we were on the SCD before, I made almond milk yogurt for him, as he is extremely allergic to cow's milk products and goat's milk products. He never liked the almond milk yogurt though, so I'm wondering if I could try coconut milk yogurt for him. I remember reading a few years ago that coconut products were hard on the gut at the beginning of the diet, so how does coconut milk fit into that? Is it safe for near the beginning of the diet? How does one make coconut milk yogurt? Also, does cashew nut yogurt taste significantly different from almond yogurt? He likes cashews - that's his favorite nut - so maybe he'd like cashew nut yogurt better than almond yogurt?? Any other suggestions for helping get rid of the clostridia? Guest guest
Hi, Janiece, The probiotic S. Boulardii is SCD legal and helpful with clostridia. And I have not found anyone who has successfully made coconut yogurt, although several have tried. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
